3D de o inalta calitate direct din date GIS 2D si se bazeaza pe trei ingrediente: obiecte, atribute si reguli definite. Cu cat aceste elemente vor fi mai detaliate cu atat continutul 3D generat va fi mai complex si mai apropiat de realitate. Desi CityEngine permite crearea multor obiecte de continut 3D din aceste trei ingrediente, scopul principal este acela de a crea medii urbane prin utilizarea obiectelor precum cladiri, interioare, strazi sau arbori, stalpi de iluminat, masini si oameni. Pentru a adauga o nota de realism cladirilor 3D CityEngine permite definirea regulilor ce permit aplicarea texturilor. Rezumand CityEngine dispune de capabilitati puternice ce permit crearea de continut 3D generat de cele mai multe ori din date GIS foarte simple permitandu-va astfel sa adaugati o noua dimensiune sistemului dumneavoastra GIS si sa pasiti in lumea 3D. Solutiile oferite de Esri Romania in cadrul acestor proiecte, au la baza o <em>metodologie de incredere</em> ce permite evaluarea starii de conservare, constituindu-se ca un sistem ArcGIS integrat, ce include tehnologii: <strong>ArcGIS Mobile</strong> dedicate culegerii datelor din teren; <strong>ArcGIS Desktop</strong>, dedicate procesarii si analizei datelor, dar si cartografierii acestora; <strong>ArcGIS Server</strong>, dedicate expunerii pe web a resurselor obtinute in cadrul proiectului, intr-o maniera accesibila oricarui utilizator.
